Missing you

I miss you so much mum - I miss you every day but this time of year hurts more. Christmas lost its sparkle when you left us .........love being with the family at Christmas, like you always did - but there will always be that empty chair at the table where you sat. I remember the first Christmas dinner I cooked when you sat there and instructed me on the timings of the potatoes and the Veg so that it would all be done at the same time. The dishes would always have to be washed , dried and put away before we could open our presents (good incentive!) We would always buy each other the usual 'slippers' and nighties , but would always try to get pressies that were thoughtful and I hope useful. While Im sitting here thinking of Christmas - I can remember, as a child , being so excited - lying in bed , with Tracy in the same bedroom, singing carols to keep ourselves awake in the hope that we could catch a glimpse of father christmas bringing our presents - and then when we were a bit older .......hearing you and dad carrying them downstairs to wrap them while we were in bed!! I continue to feel blessed that you were my mum xxxxxx
